(Not so) Wordless Wednesday: Pajama Day

Today was Pajama Day at Bub's School, so we decided to continue at home. We all put on our jammies and built a fort to have lunch and watch movies in. A perfect day in my opinion!

(Sorry for the poor picture quality, I grabbed my phone really quick to snap the pic)

Morning Conversation

On our way to school this morning we passed a lady walking her dog. I casually mentioned to the kids to look at the puppy or "puppa" as Bugs so loving refers to all dogs. Little did I know that this canine observation would begin one of my all time favorite conversations with Bubs...seriously people, this one will be in the memory bank for a while.

Me: "Hey guys, look at the puppy!"
Bugs: "Puppa! Puppa!"
Bubs: "Mommy, I want a puppy."
Me: "You do?"
Bubs: "Yes, not a big puppy, a small one that doesn't run around my house."
Me: "Ok.."
Bubs: "Please Mommy! I'll let Chloe pet him. Not on the head, on the back. And I'll take good care of him. I'll feed him...Mommy, do we have puppy food?"
Me: "No Buddy, we don't."
Bubs: "Ok, then we need to go to the pet store. And when he needs to go potty, I'll take him for a walk to the park. We need to get a leash at the store too. And, when it's time to go to the gym, I'll tell him he can't go but that I'll be back soon. And when it's time to go to bed, I'll tell him he needs to go to sleep. And he'll go to sleep. Please Mommy, Please!!"
Me: "Well, we need to talk to Daddy about it."
Bubs: "Call him now Mommy, call him..."

OH EM GEE!! Does that not make your heart melt? Seriously, I considered running to the closest shelter to find a small puppy for my little man!

Also, just to add to the cuteness...here is a pic of Bubs celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday.

Finding the Willpower

Willpower. I don't have it.

The End.

I learned this past week that I have a hard time saying NO to food. Remember that Good-Bye dinner for my friend? Well, instead of going to the restaurant with the amazing desserts she chose this really good pizza place in town. I was fully prepared when we walked in, I had reviewed the menu online and decided I was going to order the grilled chicken salad with the lite balsamic vinaigrette. Good choice, right? Then the next thing I knew, wine was being ordered, coupons were being pulled out and eventually this is what our table looked like...

There were only 3 of us...I'm Ashamed!

Oh, but it didn't stop there! Last Thursday was Bub's Valentine's Party at school and I may have indulged in a mini cupcake and chocolate fondue. And then Friday we have a Valentine's cookie decorating playdate at our house where more cupcakes and cookie were consumed. We ended the week eating at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I told you, absolutely no willpower!

On the bright side, I did get to the gym a few times this week and despite all my indulgences, I still managed to loose 1 lb, which I am extremely happy with. I would like to say that this next week is going to be easy peasy with staying on track, but unfortunately that is not the case. We have Birthday parties (3 to be exact) and a Girls Night Out with one of my besties. So that just means I have to be super conscience of all my food decisions and get my hiney into the gym more!!

Goals for this week:
- Drink more water
- Increase days at gym
- pack snacks

Weight Loss to Date: -4lbs

McFatty Monday: Baby Steps

My first official week of Weight Watchers is over and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was tough having to keep track of EVERYTHING I ate and also having to say no to things because it would throw me over my points for the day. It's funny how 29 points seems like so many points at first and then when each item you put in your mouth is 3-4 points, that large sum is suddenly amazingly small.

I was challenged a lot this week. We ate out for a few meals, which I did my best to find the healthiest options but they still seemed to push me over the top. I also got some pretty stressful news and my first reaction in that situation is to eat. And I did. So I think one day my only food entry was an Orange Scone from Panera, but it was totally worth it. This coming up week is going to be difficult as well. I have a lunch out with a friend and a good-bye dinner with another who is moving away. We're going to our favorite restaurant which has the most amazing desserts and I do not know how I'm going to resist temptation...please send lots of prayers and good healthy thoughts!

One thing I noticed from being on Weight Watchers is that I am hungry all the time! The hubs says this is a good thing because it means my metabolism is increasing, and well I'm glad for that, but that bad thing is that I kind of like to eat when I get hungry. So I'm trying to include more fruits and veggies as snacks between meals to curb those hunger pains. Luckily I enjoy rabbit food and I keep telling myself that these baby carrots and an apple taste so much better than a cookie.

So, I know the question you are all asking yourself is "did she loose any weight?"  And I did! Only 2 lbs this week and to be honest I was really discouraged by this number. But the Hubs reminded me that I only started on the 27th and have lost 3lbs. He thinks that if I keep this pace then I should be able to meet my goal within 12 weeks. He also commented that I look like I have been loosing inches and that my stomach has been flattening out...which is nice to hear! I have to keep looking at the big picture and remind myself that I'm not going to loose 10 lbs a week, it's just not realistic. I also have to stop weighing myself everyday because seeing the number fluctuate is even more discouraging.

Here are my goals for the upcoming week:
- Put down the Diet Coke and drink more Water!!!
- Continue going to gym (I was able to make it 3 times last week!)
- Try not to use my overage points
- Don't let my emotions control my eating habits

Weight Loss to Date: 3 lbs

Let's hope next week's post is easier to write and little more encouraging! I know I can do this but I still feel like I'm taking it in baby steps...although at least I'm still moving forward!  How did you do? Was this week easier for you?
